BENGALURU:
Following Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murthy’s offer of assistance in setting up an exclusive Covid-19 hospital in Bengaluru, the state government has set up 2,619 beds exclusively for such cases in the state capital.
After the first virus-related death in Kalaburagi, the state health department has geared up to set up special wards in various hospitals, including private hostels in Bengaluru.
Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar tweeted this on Friday from his @DrKSudhakar4 handle: “Blood samples for #COVID19 are tested at BMC, Rajiv Gandhi hosp & Nimhans. 630 beds have been set up to treat positive COVID-19 patients. 300 beds at BSF camp in Yelahanka & 1,689 beds have been set up in pvt hospitals to treat patients.”
