BENGALURU:
The deadly coronavirus has infected 213 persons in the last 24 hours in the state, taking the total number of positive cases to 7,213. Two deaths were also reported, one of them from the state capital.
Karnataka’s death tally is now 88. On Monday, 180 patients were discharged after successfully fighting the deadly virus.
Out of 7,213 positive cases, 4,135 have been discharged till Monday, while 2,987 active cases are in different Covid hospitals.
District-wise, Kalaburagi has the highest at 48 positive cases, while Bengaluru has reported 35 infected cases.
Fresh cases in the other districts are: Dharwad 34, Dakshina Kannada 23, Raichur 18, Yadagiri 13, Bidar 11, Bellary 10, Koppal 4, Vijayapura 3, Bagalkot 3, Shimoga 3, Udupi, Haveri, and Ramanagara 2 each, Hassan and Davangere one each.
The patient who died in Bengaluru has been named in the day’s health bulletin as P-7185: “75 years, female, diagnosed as ILI, known case of DM & HTN. She was admitted on 13.06.2020 at designated hospital and died on 15.06.2020.”
The casualty from Dharwad is named P-7060: “65 years, male, contact of P-6222. He was admitted on 14.06.2020 at the designated hospital, Hubballi-Dharwad. Died on the same day.”
