Jagjivan Ram Hospital has 2 ICU, 8 HDU and 20 oxygenated beds for children: BBMP Special Commissioner Randeep
BENGALURU:
Two Bengalureans, Shilpa Singh and Parisa Singh, have donated medical equipment worth Rs 5 lakh for use in the paediatric wing of Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram General Hospital. Special Commissioner (Health) D Randeep received the equipment on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, Randeep said that apart from the existing fever clinic and a triage centre at the hospital, a 30-bed child care centre has been set up with 2 ICU, 8 HDU and 20 oxygenated beds for children with mild to moderate Covid symptoms.

Randeep thanked Shilpa Singh and Parisa Singh for the donation, which includes 3 BiPAP machines, 1 video laryngoscope, 300 PPE kits, and 50 litres of sanitiser.

Paediatricians and nursing staff at the hospital have been trained by child experts from Indira Gandhi Hospital, the Special Commissioner (Health) said.
‘No rise in child Covid cases’
Randeep pointed out that there has been no increase in Covid infections in children in the BBMP limits. Most of the infected children have only mild to moderate symptoms and are recovering at home. Guidelines have been issued to RWAs with regard to looking after the health of children, he said.
