Decision taken with students’ health in mind: DCM
BENGALURU:
Under the looming shadow of the coronavirus, the state government has decided to pass first- and second-year students of professional courses on the basis of their internal marks.
However, final year graduate students will have to write the exams, while final year P-G students will take online exams by the end of September, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Ashwath Narayan said on Friday.
The decision was taken with the health of the students in mind and after consultations with experts, as well as taking the UGC’s recommendations into account. The decision is limited to the current academic year (2019-20).
The DCM, who is also Minister for Higher Education, said Governor Vajubhai Wala had approved the decision.
