BELAGAVI: A tractor carrying 13 people fell into the Ghataprabha river in Belagavi on Sunday, which was overflowing due to incessant rain. While 12 survived, one person is missing.
It has been raining continuously for the past three days in Belagavi district and the bridge-cum-barrage near Nandgaon in Avaradi village of Mudalagi taluk was completely flooded.
The incident took place when the tractor was crossing the Ghataprabha river and the driver lost the control. Twelve people narrowly escaped of death by swimming towards the river bank and police and firemen are searching for a missing person.

It is said that they were going from Avaradi to Nandgaon for work. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Kulgoda police station.
