All eyes on CM’s talks with BJP gen secy BL Santosh and state party chief Kateel

BENGALURU:

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s official residence ‘Kaveri’ was the focal point of political activity on Monday, with all eyes trained on the discussions between the CM, BJP national general secretary BL Santosh and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Sources said it was very likely that Santosh discussed cabinet expansion or restructuring with the CM. The Central BJP delegation is on a 3-day visit to Karnataka. Earlier, Yediyurappa had visited New Delhi in connection with cabinet expansion but returned empty-handed.

Sources said Yediyurappa is keen on the restructuring or expansion of the cabinet after the party’s success in the recent assembly by-elections.

‘Quid pro quo’

Irrigation Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi had met Santosh in New Delhi earlier and had demanded ministerial posts for those who had played a key role in the formation of a BJP government in the state.

It is being said that the party high command has given the  green signal for the restructuring of the state cabinet. In this connection, Santosh has reportedly held detailed discussions with the CM and will also hold discussions with other state BJP leaders.
