Section 144 imposed, Karnataka Home Minister visits victim’s family

SHIVAMOGGA:

A Hindu youth was brutally murdered at Seegehatti in Shivamogga on Sunday night — a district which is represented by former BJP Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Home Minister Araga Jnanendra.

The victim has been identified as Harsha (24) and is said to be associated with the Bajrang Dal.

According to his family members, he was a tailor by profession and was getting threatening calls.

Protest at hospital

Several organizations staged a protest in front of the mortuary at McGann Hospital in Shivamogga, demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the murder.

Soon after the incident was reported, Superintendent of Police Lakshmiprasad visited the hospital and later imposed Section 144 as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra visited the victim’s family on Monday morning. “The police are investigating the case and are conducting an extensive search to arrest the accused,” Jnanendra said.
