DKS’s ‘physical’ response happened in Mandya on Friday when a Congress worker tried to put a hand on his shoulder
BENGALURU:
Karnataka Congress party president DK Shivakumar found himself in a familiar pickle after he was caught on camera slapping a party worker on Friday after the latter tried to put his hand on Shivakumar’s shoulder.
The ‘slapping’ video, which has gone viral, seems to underline the KPCC chief’s ‘physical’ approach to ‘irritations’. In fact, when Shivakumar noticed that the slapping incident was being recorded on mobile cameras, he wanted all the video takers to delete it from their phones.
The incident took place at Mandya, 100 km from the state capital, Bengaluru. Shivakumar had visited the ‘sugar city’ to call on former Mandya MP G Made Gowda, who is undergoing treatment.

Shivakumar is seen in the video walking along with Congress party workers when one of them seemingly tries to put a hand on his shoulder and gets a slap in return.
DKS blames party worker!
The Congress party president is seen in the video telling the party worker in question not to push him. When he realized the scene was recorded by the media, he said that the party worker was slapped because he was ‘not maintaining social distancing’. Shivakumar is also heard saying that the party worker in question should learn to behave in public.
This is not the first time that the KPCC chief has been caught on camera slapping party workers. In the past too, he has resorted to the same ‘action’ when party workers have tried to take selfies with him.
