BENGALURU/SHIVAMOGGA: The heart-wrenching news of a real estate businessman from Shivamogga being among the 26 tourists killed by terrorists in the Pahalgam area of Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir has left the community in shock. The victim has been identified as Manjunath Rao, a 47-year-old resident of Vijayanagar in the city.
Manjunath, along with his wife Pallavi and son Abhijeya, set out on a tour of Kashmir on April 19 with plans to return on April 24. Tragically, he lost his life in the terrorist attack that occurred during their trip. The swift response of security forces and police personnel at the scene of the attack was commendable, with ambulances arriving promptly to provide assistance.
Fortunately, Pallavi and Abhijeya were rescued by locals and safely relocated to a secure location. Pallavi, who works as a manager at The Malnad Areca Marketing Co-operative Society Ltd branch in Birur, was accompanied by individuals from Sagar as well, as reported by relatives.
This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that exist in certain regions, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Manjunath Rao during this difficult time.
