Senior IAS officer G Kumar Naik given concurrent charge as BDA Commissioner
BENGALURU:
Stung by the Supreme Court’s strictures against BDA Commissioner MB Rajesh Gowda, the Karnataka government shunted out the official on Friday.
The government has placed senior IAS officer and Additional Chief Secretary G Kumar Naik in concurrent charge as BDA Commissioner with immediate effect.
SC’s earlier order flouted
The Supreme Court on Thursday came down heavily on the state government, issuing oral instructions to shift IAS officer Rajesh Gowda out of the top BDA post. The apex court’s ire followed the allotment of alternative sites to political VIPs, including Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, in contravention of its earlier order to allot alternative sites through public auction.
The apex court also orally called for shifting out the BDA secretary and deputy secretary.
