Kishore has wide experience in Railway projects

Sanjeev Kishore, IRSME, has assumed charge as General Manager of South Western Railway. Prior to the present appointment, he was posted at the Railway Board as Additional Member (Production Units). Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway, was looking after the post of GM, SWR from April 2021 till now.
Kishore possesses wide and varied experience in various capacities in North Eastern Railway, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, Central Railway, RITES, COFMOW, Centre for Railway Information Systems, New Delhi, Railway Board, and Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

An alumnus of Indian Railways’ Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (IRIMEE), Jamalpur (Bachelor of Engineering), Kishore holds a PG Diploma in Management from MDI Gurgaon(with the Prime Minister’s medal for best overall performance) and has completed the Executive Fellow Programme (Doctoral Level) in Strategic Management from MDI Gurgaon.
He has also undergone training on Advanced Strategic Management at Carnegie Mellon University, US, and has participated in the Executive Leadership Programme at SDA Bocconi, Italy. With several research papers to his credit, he has been invited to deliver guest lectures to leaders from Government and Industry at MDI Gurgaon, National Academy of Indian Railway Vadodara, etc.

Kishore possesses extensive experience of handling international projects, some of them being the UNDP-assisted project for upgradation of capabilities in Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala (1998). (Swarna Shatabdi Express was the outcome of the proptotype of this project with improved coach design), and Transfer of technology from LHB, Germany and Fiat, Italy and Switzerland. These technologies have altered the paradigm of passenger train coach design in India.
He is a recipient of the National Award (Minister of Railways Award) for Meritorious Service in 2003. Kishore is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers India and of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, United Kingdom.
