State govt sets up Veerashaiva Lingayat Development Corporation

BENGALURU:

The state government has issued an order establishing a corporation for the economic, social and educational development of the Veerashaiva Lingayat community in Karnataka, with an initial grant of Rs 500 crore.

The Karnataka Veerashaiva Lingayat Development Corporation will be registered under Section 7 of the Companies Act, 2013.

The Government Order (GO) states that the Commissioner, Social Welfare Department, will bear the initial cost of Rs 500 crore for establishing the corporation.
