Relief as 198 of 214 Tablighi returnees’ tests are negative

BENGALURU:

In a spot of relief for Karnataka, the test reports of most of the Tablighi Jamaat returnees have come back negative. So far, 198 of them do not have Covid-19 positive symptoms.

Speaking to the media, Karnataka Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said 380 samples were sent and reports of 214 have been received, out of which198 have found to be negative. This is a good sign for Karnataka as only 16 have been found positive.

Overall, Bengaluru Urban ‘tops the table’ with 55 Covid-19 cases while Mysuru has 28, Dakshina Kannada has 12 and Bidar has 10.

According to Kumar, there are 1,752 foreign returnees under home quarantine. Till Friday, 2,700 were under home quarantine. Besides this, 32,647 are under observation.
