Bengaluru: BJP Karnataka President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra has strongly accused Congress and Rahul Gandhi of deliberately stoking unrest in the country following signs of defeat in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Speaking at the BJP state headquarters in Malleshwaram during a planning meet for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Vijayendra said the Congress party, rattled by back-to-back poll failures, is indulging in misinformation and disruptive politics.
“Having failed to secure power even after desperate attempts, Rahul Gandhi is now resorting to diversionary tactics. His recent statements alleging voter list tampering in Karnataka are part of a larger narrative aimed at undermining democratic institutions,” Vijayendra alleged.
Slamming the Congress for consistently targeting the BJP and the Election Commission, Vijayendra remarked that the Opposition party’s claims of irregularities in Bengaluru Central and Rural constituencies were nothing more than baseless propaganda.
Rahul’s Karnataka ‘Love’ is Misplaced, Says Vijayendra
“Rahul Gandhi seems to have a special love for Karnataka. He’s trying to turn it into the Congress party’s ATM. Inflation is being used as a cover to burden the public with taxes while simultaneously blaming the Centre,” he said.
He went on to accuse the Congress of appeasing anti-national elements. “To please a section of minorities, they are sowing seeds of division and unrest. Rahul’s silence on national issues and selective outrage shows where his priorities lie,” Vijayendra added.
He also accused Congress of playing divisive politics by labelling BJP’s voter awareness campaigns as electoral manipulation, and cited examples from Maharashtra and Bihar where Congress lost ground but refused to accept the people’s mandate.
Rahul’s Street Drama Unnecessary, BJP Ready with Counter
On Rahul’s plan to stage a protest in Bengaluru over voter rolls, Vijayendra said: “Why should the Leader of Opposition in Parliament stage such street-level drama during the ongoing Lok Sabha session? Is it because Rahul is frustrated by Modi’s unshakable popularity?”
He also mocked Rahul’s attacks on institutions like the Election Commission, Supreme Court, GST framework, and Aadhaar, suggesting such criticisms only expose the Congress leader’s desperation.
BJP to Intensify ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign in Karnataka
Highlighting the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ initiative, Vijayendra said Karnataka has emerged as the fourth most active state in broadcasting the programme. “We’ve achieved 33,000 booth-level views last time. This shows the deep connection Modi Ji has established with the masses,” he noted.
Congress Aligning with Anti-Nationals: Surendran
K. Surendran, BJP Kerala’s former president and in-charge of the South India leg of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, launched a scathing attack on Congress, accusing it of siding with Pakistan sympathizers. “Through Operation Sindoor, India taught a lesson to terrorists. But Rahul Gandhi’s rhetoric aligns with the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang. He speaks against India on foreign soil,” Surendran said.
He alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s party has been hijacked by urban Naxals and anti-national lobbies. “Congress today is a shadow of its former self, increasingly hostile to India’s interests,” he added.
BJP leaders including P. Rajeev, H.C. Thammesh Gowda, C. Manjula, Dheeraj Muniraju, Dr. Mallikarjun Balikai, and S. Dattatri participated in the meeting, where campaign posters for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ were unveiled.
