BENGALURU:
Apart from their worry about getting infected while on duty, the state’s police personnel are also unsure over whether any time spent in advisory quarantine would be treated as leave without pay. Now, Karnataka DGP Praveen Sood has put these doubts to rest by issuing an order that any policeman who is obliged to be in quarantine after contact with a suspect Covid case should be considered as being on duty.
Policemen in the state are particularly at risk of being infected or having to self-quarantine since their duties involve close contact with the general public.
The DGP’s order thus puts their minds at ease as a quarantine period will be treated as ‘working hours’.
