BENGALURU: A mock drill is set to take place in 32 locations across Bengaluru city tomorrow at 4 pm. The drill will see the participation of various organizations, including NCC, NSS, Civil Defence, and doctors, as announced by DGP Prashant Kumar Thakur.
Following a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India is proactively taking measures to enhance preparedness and security. The Central Government has mandated a nationwide mock drill, with Karnataka also joining in the exercise. DGP Prashant Kumar Thakur has confirmed that mock drills will be conducted in Bengaluru, Karwar, and Raichur tomorrow.
The simulated emergency preparedness meeting of the Union Home Department is currently underway at the Civil Defence headquarters in Halasuru, Bengaluru. Various officials, including State Civil Defence DIG Varthika Kattiyar, are actively participating in the exercise.
Speaking to the media in the city, Fire Service DGP Prashant Kumar Thakur mentioned that preparations are in progress for the mock drill scheduled for tomorrow at 4 pm in Bengaluru, Karwar, and Raichur. Meetings have already been held with Fire Service and Civil Defence officials to ensure effective coordination of the drill.
The mock drill will be carried out at locations in Bengaluru equipped with sirens, such as Indian Institute of Science, CQAL, ESI Hospital, NAL, Bangalore Dairy, Canara Bank, SRS Peenya, VV Tower Fire Station, Gnanabharati Fire Station, and others. Various police stations and fire stations across the city will also be involved in the drill, guaranteeing a comprehensive and coordinated response in case of emergencies.
