Auto driver at risk, swabs sent for tests

BENGALURU:

The travel history of Hongasandra’s primary coronavirus patient 419 shows how the best preventive measures can come undone by a single individual.

The Bihar native visited three hospitals on different days in a single auto (KA03G5248). Now, health officials have  collected swab samples of the auto driver.

Patient 419 is a daily wage worker who was loading and unloading scrap items since March 22.

Documents with thebengalurulive claim that he had not gone outside his house and was being provided  rations, including rice and vegetables, by the owner of the house.

Waited 3 days

On April 15, he developed a cold and cough. He hired an auto on April 18 and was taken to Dr Venu Health Care Centre on Begur Main Road, where he was admitted for a day.

On April 19, he was referred to Jayadeva Hospital and took the same auto. On the same day, he was  referred to Victoria Hospital as he did not have any cardiac problem, but came back home in the same auto.

On April 20, he went to Victoria Hospital but was referred to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases. Again, he travelled in the same auto. But before going to RGICD, he went to KIMS Hospital, where he was refused admission. Later, he ended up visiting RGICD.
