Bengaluru: India’s Olympic gold medalist and world number one javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra paid a courtesy visit to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at his official residence, Cauvery, on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister extended his warm wishes to Chopra ahead of the upcoming Neeraj Chopra Classic Javelin Competition scheduled to be held at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on July 5. The prestigious event is expected to see the participation of top national and international athletes.
Also present during the meeting was MLC and President of the Karnataka Olympic Association, Govindaraju.
The interaction underscored the state government’s growing support for athletics and highlighted Karnataka’s emergence as a hub for major sports events.
