BJP National General Secretary urges Karnataka CM to drop former PM’s name from subsidised canteens at the earliest
CT Ravi’s logic: ‘Indira’ label reminds canteen users of Emergency!
BENGALURU:
A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi renamed the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award after hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, the demand to rename Karnataka’s own ‘Indira Canteen’ chain has begun.
BJP MLA and BJP National General Secretary CT Ravi has demanded renaming ‘Indira Canteen’ as ‘Annapoorneshwari Canteen’ at the earliest.
Request Chief Minister Sri @BSBommai to rename Indira Canteens across Karnataka as “Annapoorneshwari Canteen” at the earliest.

Don’t see any reason why Kannadigas should be reminded of the dark days of Emergency while they are having food.
Ravi made a request to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai while tweeting his demand on Saturday morning. His tweet reads: “Request Chief Minister Sri @BSBommai to rename Indira Canteens across Karnataka as ‘Annapoorneshwari Canteen’ at the earliest. Don’t see any reason why Kannadigas should be reminded of the dark days of the Emergency while they are having food.”
