No decision on reopening degree classes in Karnataka: DyCM

Focus for now is on vaccinating students: Ashwath Narayan

The date of reopening degree classes has not yet been decided, DyCM Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, who also holds the Higher Education portfolio, said on Thursday.

ಪದವಿ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳ ಆರಂಭ ದಿನಾಂಕದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗೊಂದಲ ಬೇಡ.

ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾಲೇಜು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಒದಗಿಸುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಆದ್ಯತೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ, ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 65% ಲಸಿಕಾಕರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಖಾಸಗಿ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ ಲಸಿಕಾಕರಣ ನಡೆಸಲು ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲರ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಕಾಪಾಡೋಣ.

Currently, the focus is on vaccination of students above 18 years, and the resumption of degree classes will be decided later after consulting all stakeholders, he clarified.

The DyCM’s clarification came after several TV channels had aired a story to the effect that degree colleges would reopen from July 19.
