BENGALURU: Discussion continued until 11 pm in the DGP’s office regarding the potential filing of a case against Nikhil Kumaraswamy in response to the recent protest in Ramanagara. The situation has escalated to the point where Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has raised serious concerns about the matter.
During a press conference at JP Bhawan, Kumaraswamy expressed his frustration, questioning the actions of the DGP and comparing his work to that of a constable. He urged the DGP to prioritize the needs of the people, particularly those from marginalized communities, rather than getting caught up in political vendettas.
The recent suicide of Chandrasekhar has shed light on the need for reform within the department, as highlighted in the CAG report. Kumaraswamy questioned the DGP’s motives, suggesting that his actions were more in line with those of a police constable than a DGP.
The presence of the ED raised further concerns about financial transactions and potential corruption within the department. Kumaraswamy emphasized the importance of following proper procedures and ensuring accountability in all financial matters.
The press conference was attended by former Minister Bandappa Kashempur, Legislative Council members Bhoje Gowda and TA Saravan, MLA Sharanugowda Kandakura, as well as senior party leaders Prakash and Ravish.
