“It is necessary for all officers to have clarity on the activities, policy, rules and guidelines of their respective departments,” he said. Calling on officers to carry out good work with courage and without any hesitation, he added, “The government is with you.”
“It should be our priority to manage the current flood situation, as well as Covid containment and management in the state,” the CM emphasized.

‘Cut wasteful expenses’
Calling on every department to cut down on unnecessary expenditure at the end of the year, Bommai instructed the state’s Chief Secretary to issue guidelines in this regard.
“Programmes should be implemented within the stipulated time with a sense of team spirit. Different departments should work in coordination. The guidelines will be formed after detailed discussions to clear all the doubts in this regard,” he said.
“A ranking system will be adopted in order to motivate departments on the basis of efficient performance,” the CM added.
Karnataka Chief Secretary P Ravikumar assured the CM that the bureaucracy would live up to his expectations.
