Consultations with parents from June 10
BENGALURU:
In a major initiative, the Karnataka government has decided that schools can reopen in the state from July 1. The admission process will begin from June 8.
The state government will hold consultative meetings of parents and SDMCs in all schools for three days from June 10.
The public education department has ordered the opening of private schools’ offices from June 8 and has called for feedback from parents by June 15.
The proposed reopening dates are: Grades 4-7 July 1; Grades 1-3 July 15; Grades 8-10 July 15; Pre-School July 20.
The three options available are: Conducting classes as earlier while maintaining sanitary precautions; conducting classes in two shifts from 8 am to 12 noon and from 1 pm to 5 pm; and odd-even schooling where grades 1-5 classes are held on one day and grades 6-10 classes the next day.
