Karnataka reports 47,563 COVID-19 cases, 482 deaths

Bengaluru sees 21,534 cases, 285 deaths

BENGALURU:

Karnataka on Saturday reported 47,563 COVID-19 deaths and 482 related deaths, taking the total caseload and fatalities to 18.86 lakh and 18,286 respectively, the health department said.

Bengaluru Urban alone accounted for 21,534 infections.

The day also saw 34,881 patients getting discharged in Karnataka.

Cumulatively, 17,86,448 positive cases have been confirmed in Karnataka, which includes 18,286 deaths and 13,19,301 discharges, a health department bulletin said.

Active cases stood at 5,48,841.

Tumakuru followed Bengaluru Urban in number of infections with 2,419, while it was 2,294 in Mysuru, 1,661 in Kalaburagi, 1,563 in Bagalkot, 1,513 in Dakshina Kannada, 1,225 in Mandya, 1,043 in Udupi, 1,034 in Uttara Kannada, followed by other districts.

Among the 482 deaths reported on Saturday, Bengaluru Urban accounted for 285, 25 in Ballari, 20 in Mysuru, followed by other districts.
