Institutional quarantine for Kerala arrivals even if they have Covid-negative report: Ashoka
BENGALURU:
In a major announcement, the Karnataka government on Monday made a seven-day quarantine mandatory for arrivals from Kerala.
The decision followed a Technical Advisory Committee meeting on Covid-19 and an official meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday evening.
Later, briefing the media, Revenue Minister R Ashoka said that neighbouring Kerala is witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases and Karnataka has decided to enforce institutional quarantine even if arrivals from that state carry a negative RT-PCR certificate.
Re-test on 7th day
“People arriving from Kerala will have to remain under institutional quarantine even if they carry a negative RT-PCR report. And, on the seventh day, they will have to undergo an RT-PCR test,” Ashoka said.
