PM’s excellent personal example is lost on them and their officials

BENGALURU:

Social distancing? What’s that? It seems the concept of social distancing is yet to sink in among Karnataka netas, despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s excellent personal example. On Wednesday, he led from the front when he chaired a cabinet meeting in Delhi with his colleagues maintaining correct social distancing.

In stark contrast was a meeting in Bengaluru on Thursday, jointly held by Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar and Excise Minister H Nagesh, regarding the scaling up of production of sanitizers. Shockingly, none of the ministers or senior IAS officers present maintained proper social distancing.

The meeting in room 346 of Vikas Soudha was attended by senior IAS officer Gaurav Gupta, who is in-charge of logistics for Covid-19, Excise Commissioner Yashwant and members of the distilleries association.

The purpose of the meeting was to ensure that there is no dearth of sanitizers in state. The Drug Controller was instructed to issue the required licences immediately.

Dy CM ALSO GUILTY…

In another lax incident, Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan forgot his social distancing obligations while visiting Victoria Hospital to check its Covid-19 preparedness…

He was accompanied by Victoria director Dr Jayanthi, Minto director Dr Sujatha, Victoria Hospital’s trauma head Dr Balaji Pai, Dr Sateesh and Dr Aseema Banu, but everyone forget to maintain the social distancing protocol.
