Bengaluru: Amid growing media speculation about a leadership change in Karnataka Congress, the party’s general secretary in charge of the state, Randeep Singh Surjewala, dismissed such reports as “pure imagination”.
Responding to questions about internal discussions and reports suggesting changes at the top, Surjewala said, “Leadership change, as reported in the media, is nothing more than creative imagination. These are just colourful ideas, not reality. What is going on is an internal organisational exercise — not a reshuffle.”
“Some in the media are trying to cook up a storm over what is essentially a routine party activity. As I said, it is just a ‘poha-poha’ imagination — leadership change is not happening,” he reiterated.
Surjewala added, “September revolution, October revolution — these are catchy phrases thrown around, but they don’t reflect the party’s internal realities. I thank everyone for their curiosity, but this is not a time for speculation.”
His remarks come at a time when the Congress government in Karnataka is under constant observation, both by political analysts and the opposition, over internal power dynamics.
