This footage caused embarrassment to the department, prompting an immediate inquiry. The Chikkaballapur District Health Officer formed a fact-finding committee, which validated the allegations. Based on the findings, the Principal Secretary of the Department has ordered the immediate suspension of Dr. Narasimhamurthy under Rule 10(3) of the Karnataka Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1957.

The order notes that the allegations of collecting bribes from patients not only breach public trust but also tarnish the image of government healthcare institutions.

During the suspension period, Dr. Narasimhamurthy is not permitted to discharge any government duty and has been instructed to report to the District Surgeon of the District Hospital, Puttur, Dakshina Kannada, without engaging in any independent professional activities unless granted prior approval by competent authorities.
