BENGALURU:
The state government is gearing up to hold elections for the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Shockingly the state government on Friday ordered reducing the number of wards to 225 from 243.
The notification issued by the state government has been withdrawn with immediate effect, increasing the number of BBMP wards to 243.
BBMP earlier had 198 wards. After the BJP government came to power, the wards delimitation was conducted and the number of wards were increased to 243. However, now the Congress government has issued an order fixing the number of wards at 225.
