Karnataka FDA Raids Unlicensed Amazon Storage Facilities in Anekal, Devanahalli; Medicines Worth ₹4.02 Lakh Seized
Bengaluru: The Drugs Enforcement Wing of the Karnataka Food Safety and Drug Administration (FDA) has raided two unlicensed e-commerce storage facilities in Anekal and Devanahalli and seized medicines worth a combined ₹4.02 lakh that were allegedly being stored without valid drug licences.
The FDA said the operations were carried out following specific intelligence about compliance violations involving the storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products. Enforcement teams conducted raids at multiple locations in the state.
In Anekal taluk, a team led by Manohar, Assistant Drugs Controller, State Intelligence Branch, along with regional Drugs Inspectors, raided the premises of M/s Amazon Seller Services Pvt. Ltd. at Thattanahalli, Anekal taluk, Bengaluru-562107.
According to the FDA, medicines valued at ₹2,45,352 were found stored at the premises without a valid drug licence and were seized by the enforcement team.
In a simultaneous operation in Devanahalli, a team led by Vibha, Drugs Inspector, Bangalore Rural, along with other Drugs Inspectors, inspected an unlicensed facility identified in the press note as M/s Amazon, Aerospace, Devanahalli, Bangalore Rural district.
The FDA said medicines valued at ₹1,57,000 were seized from the Devanahalli facility for alleged illegal storage.
Together, the two operations resulted in the seizure of medicines valued at ₹4,02,352.
