Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is set to travel to New Delhi on June 10 for a crucial meeting with the Congress high command. The agenda is expected to include discussions on various pressing matters, notably the tragic stampede that occurred on June 4, resulting in the loss of 11 lives.
In an official statement, the Chief Minister’s office confirmed, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will travel to Delhi tomorrow. He will meet with party leadership to provide updates on the latest developments.”
The stampede took place on the evening of June 4 outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where a large crowd had gathered to celebrate the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL victory. The incident left 11 people dead and 56 others injured.
On Sunday, Siddaramaiah refuted claims that the Congress high command had requested information from him regarding the stampede.
In related news, Congress State President D.K. Shivakumar is also in Delhi today. When approached by reporters about a potential meeting with the party’s top brass, he stated that he would not be attending this time due to an urgent meeting in Bengaluru, but he plans to return later in the day.
