Bommai says Maharashtra Irrigation Minister Jayant Patil was happy with the coordination on flood management

BENGALURU:

Maharashtra Irrigation Minister Jayant Patil and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai discussed coordination of flood management and water-sharing issues here on Frdiay.

Bommai told reporters after the meeting that the discussions covered flood management in both states as well as joint ventures like ‘Doodh Ganga’ and the 3rd phase of the Upper Krishna project. According to the CM, the Maharashtra minister expressed happiness over the coordination between the two states in managing the flood situation.

Bommai said a decision was taken to have better coordination on the release of water into the Krishna river. “It is our priority to cordially resolve the issue of water-sharing between our two states,” the CM said.

Minister Murugesh Nirani, Rakesh Singh, ACS , Water Resources Department, and other officers were present at the meeting.
