BENGALURU:
Deputy Chief Minister Dr. CN Ashwath Narayan has invited chip major Intel to set up shop in the state. Participating in a video conference with the Intel India brass on Wednesday, he said the company could set up units either in Mangaluru or Belagavi.
“There is a port in Mangaluru while Belagavi is a few hours from a port in Goa,” he said, referring to the sea route to export chips made in Karnataka.
The company announced a donation of Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Director of Intel Business operations Manas Das handed over the relief cheque to Dr Narayan.
Intel India executives Ananth Narayan, Jitendra Chedda, Anand Deshpande and Anjali Rao, and Vice-President of Vertical Solutions Kishore Ramisetty remote-interacted with Dr Narayan.
