Karnataka Higher Education Minister Ashwath Narayan clarifies that exams will be held as scheduled

BENGALURU:

The closure of universities belonging to the Department of Higher Education and colleges coming under the Department of Collegiate and Technical Education (DCTE) has been extended till February 16. However, examinations will be held as scheduled and it has been directed to conduct online classes, Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said on Friday.

ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂಸಾಚಾರ ನಡೆಯದಂತೆ ಮುಂಜಾಗ್ರತಾ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಕಾಲೇಜು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಕಾಲೇಜು, ಡಿಪ್ಲೋಮಾ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನ್ವಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ರಜೆಯನ್ನು ಫೆ.16 ವರೆಗೆ ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Earlier, in view of the ‘hijab row’, the DCTE had declared the closure of institutions from January 9 to 11. Now, as a precautionary measure, the closure has been extended. This closure order is applicable to government, aided and unaided degree colleges as well as to diploma and engineering colleges, the Minister stated.
