Venkatesh (67), a sharpshooter of the forest department, who was attacked by wild elephant on Thursday, died.
An incident took place in Hassan district, not only the common people but also the expert personnel of the forest department were killed due to the forest disaster. Even after his retirement, the department used Venkatesh’s services.
Just three months ago, Dr. Vinay, a doctor who had gone to catch wild animals near Channagiri in Davangere district, was injured and survived a life-and-death struggle. Now Venkatesh has been attacked.
An operation to capture a wildebeest named Bhima was undertaken as he was separated from the group in Sakaleshpur and Alur taluks.
