Gang of five robbers posing as policemen arrested

BENGALURU: A gang of five, including a minor, was caught for impersonating police officers and committing robbery in Pulikeshinagar. The arrested robbers are Ayisha Farheen, Asgar, Nazeer, Zakariya and a minor.

On April 2, a woman named Sophia arrived at Banaswadi railway station from Hosur. The gang, posing as police officers, approached her in an autorikshaw and claimed that they had to arrest her in connection with a case. They took he money and ornaments and told her to come to the police station and fled the scene.

They found that the accused had purchased an item from a nearby retail store using PhonePe. With this lead, the police were able to apprehend the accused.
