BENGALURU:
CCB sleuths on Wednesday raided a club in Varthur and arrested 8 people for illegal gambling. The officials seized Rs. 60,000 from the accused.
On a tip-off, the cops raided RSV Recreation Association Club at Dommasandra, Mathanallur Cross, KH Road, in the Varthur police station limits.
Those arrested are Raju, 42, (cashier), Chandrappa, 52, Chelluvayya,49, Karthik, 30, and Praveen, Vijay, Lokesh and Manjunath, all in their 30s. They reside in the same locality.
The police seized cash along with 12 sets of playing cards. According to the cops, non-members were playing there for huge sums. The Varthur police have registered a case.
