BENGALURU:
After nearly 68 days of the lockdown, the first originating train from Bengaluru city railway station was flagged off on Monday morning.
The Jan Shatabdi train to Hubli was flagged off by contract cleaning staff S Indra and pointsman Vithal Patil at 6 am.
The DRM Bengaluru tweeted: “GREEN FLAG TO NEW NORMAL. After lockdown, 1st originating train of SWR from Bengaluru Division 02079 SBC-UBL Jan Shatabdi Express started RT at 06:00. Train was flagged off by contract cleaning staff Mrs S Indra and pointman Mr. Vithal Patil of SBC station. @PiyushGoyal”
He further tweeted: “It was the KJM diesel loco shed which took the Janshatbadi. “PRIDE OF KARNATAKA: KJM DIESEL LOCO SHED.
The honour of hauling first originating train of SWR after lockdown from Bengaluru Division, 02079 Bengaluru- Hubli Jan Shatabdi Express went to 40236/WDP4D of our beloved KJM Diesel Loco Shed. @PiyushGoyal @SWRRLY.”

Speaking to thebengalurulive, DRM Ashok Kumar Verma said, “A total of 160 tickets were booked. The train started at 6 am from SBC with 82 persons aboard. There are further boardings from Yeshvantpur and Tumukuru.”
