DGMOs of India and Pakistan Agree to Cease Military Operations: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri

Date:

New Delhi: The Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan have reached an agreement to cease all firing and military actions on land, air, and sea starting from 5 pm on Saturday, as announced by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

The announcement by the Foreign Secretary followed a statement by US President Donald Trump, who mentioned that India and Pakistan have agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire after discussions facilitated by the US.

According to Misri, the DGMO of Pakistan contacted the DGMO of India at 3:35 pm earlier in the afternoon.

“They both agreed to halt all firing and military actions on land, in the air, and at sea, starting from 1700 hours IST on Saturday,” Misri stated.

“Instructions have been issued on both sides to implement this agreement. The DGMOs are scheduled to communicate again on May 12 at 1200 hours,” he added.
