Reaction to her warning that those attacking cow transporters would be booked

MANGALORE:

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh (who was transferred on Tuesday) reportedly received a death threat for saying that action would be taken against those who attack cow transporters.

At a meeting in her office on Monday, she had said that illegal cow traffickers should be handed over to the police, and that the public should not take the law in their hands.

Her remarks were carried by various media, and a message in Tulu posted on a WhatsApp group said she should be killed.

The DCP, Mangalore (Law and Order) said, “An investigation into the matter has begun. We spoken with the DC. If a complaint is given, we will file a case. Otherwise a suo moto case will be registered.”
