The jail staff, under the leadership of Santosh Rathod, took Chandrashekhar into custody. A joint effort between the VV Puram police and jail authorities led to a successful search operation that ultimately located the accused in Tumakuru. Currently, Chandrashekhar is being held at the VV Puram police station.
The heart-wrenching incident took place on the outskirts of Chikkabagevadi village in Bailahongala taluk. The Kia car, driven by Subhash Patil, son of former MLA RV Patil, was attempting to overtake when it collided with the oncoming Alto car. Subhash Patil, along with his son, was also injured in the crash and is currently hospitalized in Belgaum.
The victim, identified as Karthik (32), a resident of Kyathamaranahalli in Mysuru city, was viciously assaulted by a group of six individuals who arrived on a scooter and a car in front of a hotel near Varuna at 1:45 am on Sunday night.
