Corona alarm: Minister urges Bengalureans to step out only if absolutely necessary

With active cases in the state capital crossing the 500-mark and experts predicting a surge in infections, Revenue Minister R Ashoka has urged Bengalureans to step out of their homes ony if absolutely necessary.

On Saturday, the minister sent out a strong message on the need for heightened precautions, at the same time asserting that the state government was ‘well-prepared’.

Ashoka tweeted: “Coronavirus cases are on the increase in many parts of Bengaluru and I urge the public to stop unnecessary travel. Wearing a mask is a must when going out for essential work. I request people to carry out their business and other activities while maintaining social distance.”
