Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa talked tough at a meeting with officials and cabinet colleagues at his official residence ‘Kaveri’ on Sunday, ahead of the lockdown from Tuesday evening in Bengaluru Urban and Rural.
The Chief Minister made clear his intention to enforce a strict lockdown in the two districts. “Positive cases are surging in Bengaluru Urban as more than half of the positive and active cases (in the state) are being reported from the state capital. It is high time that Bengalureans cooperate and stay at home to stop the spread of the virus,” the CM reportedly told his cabinet colleagues.

Revenue Minister R Ashoka, the Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Shankaragowda Patil, IAS officer Rajendra Kumar Kataria and other officers were present during the meeting.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai along with city police commissioner Bhaskar Rao reviewed the ground situation ahead of the week-long lockdown from Tuesday. They visited KR Market, Sirsi Circle, Majestic and RMC Yard in Yeshwanthpur.
