Class 10 student jumps to death from 12th floor of apartment building in Bellandur

A 15-year-old Class 10 student ended her life by jumping off the 12th floor of her apartment building at Bellandur here today. The deceased was identified as Jessica, whose father is a software engineer and mother a teacher at a private school.

Jessica and her parents, who hail from Tamil Nadu, had been living on the 11th floor of Klassik Landmark apartment in Bellandur for the last two years. It is learnt that Jessica was not attending school properly and had attended classes for only six days in the last three months.

On Tuesday morning, she went to the floor above their flat and jumped to her death when there was no one at home.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield) Girish S said the reason for the girl ending her life was not immediately known. “Her father is a software engineer and mother a teacher at a private school. The girl went to school in the morning and returned home. The teacher called her mother and informed that she had not attended classes”, he said.

“Preliminary information is that she was not attending classes and would return from school. The Bellandur police have registered a case and taken up further investigation”, the DCP added.
