BENGALURU: The Karnataka Cabinet is set to convene a special meeting on April 17 to deliberate on the caste census report, a topic that has sparked intense debate among opposition parties.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had previously promised leaders of backward classes and representatives of backward class organizations that he would act on the findings of the caste census report. The issue was brought to the forefront during a Friday’s Cabinet meeting.
During the meeting at Vidhana Soudha today, chaired by CM Siddaramaiah, the caste census report was thoroughly discussed. It was agreed that the final decision regarding its implementation would be made at the upcoming Cabinet meeting.
The outcome of this meeting will determine the fate of the report and whether it will be put into action.
