Bommai asks party workers to convey to citizens the development work done for Bengaluru
BENGALURU:
Expressing confidence about the BJP winning the forthcoming BBMP elections, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Friday that “the victory of BJP in the BBMP elections is as true as the sun rising in the east.”
Speaking at a special programme organised at the state BJP office, he said there was no doubt that the people of Bengaluru would support the BJP. “We should convey the work done by the government to the people. Ours is a government that walks the talk,” the CM said. He appealed to party workers to take up the poll campaign with confidence.
‘Responsive to every sector’
The state government has proved its responsiveness in every sector, Bommai pointed out. Listing the state government’s achievements, the CM said doubling the compensation for crop loss during the floods, increasing the pension under Sandhya Suraksha Yojana and pensions for the physically challenged and widows have benefited 58 lakh persons. Families of those who lost their lives due to Covid have been paid an ex-gratia of Rs 1.50 lakh, construction of 5 lakh houses has been completed by the state government and funds have been sanctioned for 6.50 lakh houses by the Centre.

‘All-inclusive govt’
“Our government is all-inclusive. Apart from Rs 6,000 crore provided for development of Bengaluru, Rs 1,500 crore for remodelling of main storm water drains, Rs 2,300 crore for development of 12 corridors, and development of 75 slums and 75 parks under the Amrith programme have been taken up,” Bommai said.
“A strong foundation has been laid for development in the last 6 months of our administration. Our government has the strength and the confidence to face tough challenges,” Bommai said.

Making Bengaluru ‘international’
The CM said, “Our government has resolved to complete all-round development of Bengaluru and make it an international-level city. He thanked Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, the 3 BJP MPs of Bengaluru and the party MLAs and ministers of Bengaluru for their cooperation.
He also recalled the contribution of veteran leader BS Yediyurappa, other leaders of the party and committed workers for the growth of the BJP in Bengaluru.
