Bengaluru: The competent authority has granted permission for an investigation against BJP MLA Munirathna from the Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency in connection with a bribery case involving BBMP contractor Chaluvraju.
Munirathna is accused of demanding a bribe of ₹36 lakh to award a waste management contract to Chaluvraju, of which he allegedly accepted ₹20 lakh. A case has been registered against him at the Vyalikaval Police Station under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
In light of these allegations, the Director General of Police (CID) had sought permission from the competent authority to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. The authority has now granted this request, paving the way for further inquiry into the case.
