BENGALURU:
A city session court on Monday extended the Enforcement Directorate Custody of Bineesh Kodiyeri, the son of the CPI(M) Kerala Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, by another five days.
According to official sources, the ED Officials, who had produced before the court after Kodiyeri’s five days’ custody was ended today and sought the extension of him for further more days.
The ED officials, appearing before the court, had reportedly pleaded that the interrogation of the interrogation of Bineesh could not be completed because of his illness.
It may be recalled that the ED officials had arrested Bineesh on Thursday last in connection with the alleged offence of money laundering under Section 19(1) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA).
The accused is also facing charges of having links between a key accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case and a prime accused in the Bengaluru drug seizure case. (Agency)
