Bengaluru:
The North Division’s Nandini Layout police have arrested six persons who were robbing people on the pretext of offering them a lift. The accused are Sunil Kumar (19), Abhilash (25), Ranjan (19), Sudeep (19), Rohit (19) and Harish (19). The cops have recovered a Toyota car, three bikes and eight mobiles.
According to the police, the gang was operating in different parts of Bengaluru and would target individuals in the guise of offering them lifts. According to a complaint by Manjunath, a resident of Nandini Layout, he was at the Sumanahalli bus stand waiting for a bus when a car stopped nearby and the occupants offered him a lift to his house. Once in the car, he was threatened at knifepoint and robbed of Rs. 19,000.
Following the arrests, the police solved two other robbery cases, one at Rajagopala Nagar and a bike theft at Nandini Layout.
