Bengaluru: The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has issued a public safety advisory following pre-monsoon showers that have affected the region over the past two days. Residents are urged to exercise caution and adhere to electrical safety measures during this period.
BESCOM has warned against approaching tilted or damaged electric poles, downed power lines, and areas where tree branches have fallen onto electrical infrastructure due to strong winds and rain.
In the event of an electrical accident or if residents notice fallen power lines, they are encouraged to contact their nearest BESCOM sub-division office or call the BESCOM helpline at 1912. However, due to a surge in calls during the pre-monsoon period, the helpline may occasionally be unavailable.
To facilitate communication, BESCOM has provided district-wise WhatsApp helpline numbers for reporting power supply issues. Consumers can also send images and videos related to electrical problems to these numbers.
BESCOM assures that all power-related complaints will be addressed promptly.
